MVPA is ready to go and will open the gates for our 62nd season on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend at 11:00 AM.

The Board of Directors, Committees, and volunteers have been busy preparing for the upcoming season. Beginning May 1, a tentative schedule of Park sponsored activities, swim meets, tennis matches, practice times, aerobics, and master swim will be found in the Newsletter on the Forms webpage. Check the bulletin boards at the gatehouse and around the Park for notices about the latest activities.

They are also available on the Forms Page of this web site.  The Rules and Regulations are in the MVPA directory published each year. Members are responsible for keeping themselves informed of the Rules & Regulations.

Ages 2 & Under:   Free

Ages 3+:   $5.00

Weekly & Monthly House Guest Fees

Guests over age 3: $20.00 week, $60.00 month

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION is required of all members and child care providers for admittance to the Park. Photo ids do not need to be renewed each year.

VOLUNTEERS – The continued success of the Association depends on the participation of you the member. Serving on a committee, helping to plan our activities, projects, and events will guarantee their success. We need your help, so if you would like to become involved or have any questions, please contact any of the Board members or Committee chairs.

PARTIES – Reservation rules are included in the Membership Directory along with a party reservation form Park-sponsored activities take priority over special requests. All parties with fewer than 50 people must be approved by the Manager prior to the date of your event. Parties with more than 50 people must be approved in advance by the Board of Directors.  To make a reservation to hold a party at the Park, click on this Party Reservation Form, fill it out and turn it in at the Gatehouse.

SWIM LESSONS – Please sign up at the gatehouse. As a reminder, ALL lesson fees are paid at the gatehouse, not to the instructor. Fees for lessons are listed below and in the Membership Directory. Group Lesson fees are due at the time of registration.

TENNIS LESSONS – Please sign up at the gatehouse for all clinics. Clinic dates will be posted on the Bulletin Board. If you would like to set up a private or semi-private lesson you can contact one of our outstanding coaches to arrange a time and date.  You can also sign for lessons at the gatehouse.  All lesson/clinic fees are paid at the gatehouse.

TENNIS COURT RESERVATIONS – Please sign up on the reservation sheets posted on the right side of the main gate. Court 1 is an open court except for matches and practices.

PARK-SPONSORED ACTIVITIES

The Adult Activities Committee Chair Hillary Waldron, 703 282-8970, is planning and coordinating this summer’s activities. She appreciates any volunteering support you can give.  Check the website calendar for the latest activities.  Click on Forms for the latest schedule.

Children’s Activities Chairs have planned a terrific summer of weekly activities. Please contact Mary Godbout, 703-765-0553, maryzmendoza@hotmail.com or James Brannon, jamesmonicab@cox.net to offer assistance.

Please remember that parental supervision for all children’s activities is required. Please no drop-offs.

AQUA AEROBICS – MVPA will again host an aqua aerobics program.  AM sessions from 10-11 am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday begin June 22. PM sessions on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30 begin June 23.  Click on Forms for the latest registration form.

MASTER SWIM – “Later Gators” is a group of adult (over 18 years of age) swim enthusiasts who enjoy participating in swim workouts during the summer. Sessions are scheduled, rain or shine, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 – 7:30 am. John Carlson at 703-765-0280 directs this activity. Click on Forms for the latest registration form.

PARKING – Once again we ask you to always be considerate of our neighbors and do not park near MVPA’s entrance on Fairfax Road or Lafayette Drive.

PARK SECURITY – The Board of Directors is strongly committed to prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law anyone found vandalizing or trespassing in the Park.
