Prospective Member Info
Mount Vernon Park is a non-profit, members-as-shareholders association located at the corner of Lafayette Drive and Fairfax Road in Hollin Hall Village. Set on nearly 13 acres of wooded parkland, the Park is the focus of summer activity for 600 families. MVP member enjoy 3 pools (25 meter, 50 meter and wading), 4 lighted tennis courts (open year round), a large picnic area with grills, a children’s playground, a covered pavilion, and a 1 acre pond for fishing. MVP Swimming opens on Memorial Day weekend and closes two weeks after Labor Day. Operating hours are 11 AM to 9PM Monday through Saturday and Noon to 9 PM on Sunday.
To join MVP you will need to fill out an application and return it with a $25 nonrefundable processing fee. When a Membership becomes available, we will contact you. Currently, there is a wait list. When contacted, you will purchase a Membership Certificate for $300 and pay an initiation fee of $500. When you leave MVP, your certificate is re-sold, and the certificate value is returned to you. The Initiation Fee is non-refundable.
The 2012 yearly membership fee is $475.00 for the first family member and $45.00 for each additional member over 1 year of age by June1st. (eg. a family of four would pay $615) $125 of this is refundable through our work day program. Arrangements can also be made for childcare providers. Dues are prorated if you join during the season. Included in the yearly dues is a capital improvements fee of $175 per membership certificate per year. This helps us to rennovate and improve the Park with projects such as the recently replaced 25M pool.
